Net:
I just had my Carb overhauled with a local SF Bay Area shop I have worked
with for 25 years. I just thought I would let you all know of another
source. $250 with base gasket. Email me at _dean@hansonemail.com_
(mailto:dean@hansonemail.com) if you want his contact info. I'm on digest and don't check
all that often. He can turn it around in 2/3 days.

You probably know this but....

Is he overhauling the GMC High Performance Carb or treating it like a regular 455 carb??

I am no mechanic but the GMC High Performance Carb has something different in the carb throat to enhance turbulance and maybe warm the fuel. I also beleive the fuel tubes are a hair larger than regular 455 carbs.....

Having just gone through this mess, I have picked up a little of this info. I am sure others can tell you exactly what the difference is but I think I have it in basic terms...

LarC ( Getting the word out after a mechanic warned me about not putting the proper GMC High Performance Carb back on the engine )
