Sorry, I thought the prior msg was about the 'Original' restore which I
refer to in my msg as the 'authentic' restoration.

OH NO, Not needed Dave

I don't keep track of the FuturLiner like I used to. I had a keen interest in them at one point when two of them, in rough shape, were sitting outside a body shop up here North of Chicago.

To clarify some of my chatter...

The FIDO FuturLiner is the one I remember went through the auction.
This is the one that was updated and had many changes made to build it as a working vehicle. It no longer has the original engine or drive train.

I was reading the FuturLiner that was rebuilt and turned into a bar, not an RV, may have gone to the auction also. It no longer sports the FuturLiner "Parade of Progress" logo nor the original colors.
It had a great deal of replacement parts donated, to rebuild that Futurliner and i don't beleive the engine and drive train were OEM anymore either.

The museum FuturLiner was rebuilt to historic specs and is the only one that is true to the OEM design.
THe ONLY THING THAT WAS CHANGED was reinforcement to the roof because of the sagging problem. I don't recall any other changes.

I think there was another Canadian FuturLiner that was rebuilt, I don't think I am confusing with the FIDO, but I don't know how tight they stayed with OEM specs.

LarC ( Thinking sometimes I just spend too much time on the internet )
