Interesting. How do they keep track of what's supposed to be in
each vehicle? Seems like a big job. I'd guess most smog check
technicians have never seen a GMC motorhome, and rarely a vehicle from the 70's.
Is there some master checklist? Just curious.

David,
A lot of folks do what I did. My coach originally sold in AZ, then
spent a lot of it's life in CA. No way that thing would ever pass CA
smog. The PO kept the AZ registration. so when I registered it, I
put it in my name, and that of a friend that lived in Kalispel, MT and
I have lived happily ever after. Actually, CA law requires that the
vehicle (out of state military exempt) be registered where it is
primarily used IIRC.
