O-kee-do-ky. The pictures from yesterday are up.

I couldn't have done it without you Dan. Thanks a bunch. It's really coming together nicely. I sent a friend a picture of it and mentioned the Faux Suede. She said it sounds "Pimpish" Laughing I replied... it's "Elegant" Very Happy

I'm going to head to town this morning for brunch and go buy the rest of the suede material at Walmart, and try to find some paint to match for the instrument bezel, the "knee panel" and the cover for the backside of the insturments. Then I'll get back here and finish screwing things together. I'm really anxious to see how the HVAC does since THAT was the original reason for all this!! Funny how that works... ummmmm

Jeff, your pictures are much superior to mine. I am going to put a link from our blog to them so non GMC folks can see them.

Jeff, that dash looks great!!! One thing I couldn't tell was whether you removed the pads from the dash before recovering?

Awesome job!

Nope but we covered what was cracked before we put the material on.

Dan you say that " we covered what was cracked before you put the material on". How did you cover or close up the cracks? Tape? Glue?

Michael, I thought Jeff would be back by now. He must have got lost trying to buy out Walmart, the material we used. He can tell you just what it was. Some kind of "cottony" substance he had that was like a backing on some cloth. We glued it to the bad areas, top of doughnut. Then we wrapped the material around that, not glued to it, but glued everywhere else we could shoot 3M 77. Hope that helps.

I didn't quite get lost but... I did go back to Wally World and got the last 4 yards of the suede material. Came back and worked for a little while and then got a call from a friend to go back to town. sigh...
The material we covered the donut with was actually just a medium thin quilting material. I would have rather used the real thin foam that I thin Ken H. used but, I could find it here in the thriving metropolis of Silver City, NM Smile This stuff worked but, like Dan said, we didn't want to glue the suede to it because we were afraid as we streched it the material would just pull apart and bunch up.
I did get the donut attached to the dash and everything is real solid. I should be able to finish it up today.

Jeff, got any pictures of today's work?
Thanks for the help this morning. We finally got the fuel injection running about 1230 and pulled out.

No pictures becasue I had to do paying work all day. never got to the shop. sigh....

Glad your fix was an easy one on the injection deal. Always a concern when you have a "black box" sort of thing and you can't buy them everywhere. Might think about a spare... or a carb in the spares box.

Jeff, when I asked him wherre to get the black box, he listed several parts stores. That is one thing I do like about this Holley system. Got my TPS from Autozone a few years back. This problem was self induced by me.
