OK, which one of you wrote this?

New Direction for any war: Send Service Vets over 60!

I am over 60 and the Armed Forces thinks I'm too old to track down
terrorists. You can't be older than 42 to join the military. They've got the
whole thing ass-backwards. Instead of sending 18-year olds off to fight,
they ought to take us old guys. You shouldn't be able to join a military
unit until you're at least 35.

For starters, researchers say 18-year-olds think about sex every 10 seconds.
Old guys only think about sex a couple of times a day, leaving us more than
28,000 additional seconds per day to concentrate on the enemy.

Young guys haven't lived long enough to be cranky, and a cranky soldier is a
dangerous soldier. 'My back hurts! I can't sleep, I'm tired and hungry.' We
are impatient and maybe letting us kill some asshole that desperately
deserves it will make us feel better and shut us up for awhile.

An 18-year-old doesn't even like to get up before 10am. Old guys always get
up early to pee, so what the hell. Besides, like I said, I'm tired and can't
sleep and since I'm already up, I may as well be up killing some fanatical
son-of-a-bitch.

If captured we couldn't spill the beans because we'd forget where we put
them. In fact, name, rank, and serial number would be a real brainteaser.

Boot camp would be easier for old guys. We're used to getting screamed and
yelled at and we're used to soft food.

We've also developed an appreciation for guns. We've been using them for
years as an excuse to get out of the house, away from the screaming and
yelling.

They could lighten up on the obstacle course however. I've been in combat
and never saw a single 20-foot wall with rope hanging over the side, nor did
I ever do any pushups after completing basic training. Actually, the running
part is kind of a waste of energy, too. I've never seen anyone outrun a
bullet.

An 18-year-old has the whole world ahead of him. He's still learning to
shave, to start a conversation with a pretty girl. He still hasn't figured
out that a baseball cap has a brim to shade his eyes, not the back of his
head.

These are all great reasons to keep our kids at home to learn a little more
about life before sending them off into harm's way.

Let us old guys track down those dirty rotten coward terrorists. The last
thing an enemy would want to see is a couple million pissed off old farts
with attitudes and automatic weapons, who know that their best years are
already behind them.

HEY!! How about recruiting Women over 50...in menopause!!! You think MEN
have attitudes??

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh my God!!! If nothing else, put them on border patrol. They'll
have it secured the first night!

Being 35, i'll get banned for this but have too....

you'll get up to march/take objective.. get 30 minutes into the
mission and forget what your where marching for....
and better yet, if the soldiers are part of this group.. the general
will say take hill 52
you start taking hill 52, then a discussion starts that 52 is WRONG
and its 51.. then the discussion will splinter to some other tangent..
3 days later the original orders about hill 52 will now be talking
about how the roads in Afghanistan are tough on shoes....

For some reason I thought this thread was gonna be about drafting semis doing over 60 mph! Lol. Good read anyway and damn funny. Hell they should just send me out there after a good taco bell lunch. But then again I think using poisonous gas is against one of the Geneva conventions, thankfully ice never been to Geneva. Hehe

That cracks me up Rob, did you write all of that? I can relate. I often tell Teri if I were to start over I would head straight for the Border Patrol. If one of my bullets hit someone, heading north, no one would ever know it. I can keep a secret. Id park the GMC right there close to Stevve Ferguson's place and keep my sights clean. Right now, I would work for food and water if they would take me.

New Direction for any war: Send Service Vets over 60!

I am over 60 and the Armed Forces thinks I'm too old to track down

Old guys only think about sex a couple of times a day, leaving us more than
28,000 additional seconds per day to concentrate on the enemy.

Young guys haven't lived long enough to be cranky, and a cranky soldier is a

on our 75 coach, I found there are some channels in the aluminum body
that run to the outside. For example, inside the propane compartment, there
is a hollow channel that curves around the back of the body near the floor.
This connects directly to behind the water tank under the bed. Useful for running
a wire for an outside electrical outlet as our previous owner did, but a big air leak.
Also, the holes they cut for the latches in both the genset and propane compartments.
I noticed a draft down low at the front side of the generator compartment box when
I had things all torn up. Applied some expanding foam, and was surprised
to find that as it expanded it came out where the genset door latch hole is
(ie, the groove they cut into the aluminum for the latch to catch into).
I assume the propane hatch side has a similar connection, so shot some expanding
foam into the latch hole from outside, and just trimmed/pushed it back
as it expanded to allow for the latch to fit.
Another big one is inside the electrical hatch. The plastic hatch box is mounted
flat against the body framing, but there's a big gap just above the bottom of the box
in between two parallel framing members in the wall (parallel to the ground).
This same gap is in our 73 coach (which is currently gutted so it's easy to see).

Jim,

It isn't cause you've got to pee? ;-) I do that at least a couple of those a night at 67! ;-)

Speaking of handguns I got a Taurus "The Judge" for Double Trouble. It fires .410 shotgun shells and I reckon for close quarters
like inside a GMC it is a good choice.

I reckon that will handle anyone that breaks in!

Well, first you have to get past the BWDs to get in mine.  Thereafter, I have the choice of a .380 popgun or a Wingmaster chambered for .12GA full of #2 buckshot.  Which won't penetrate the outer walls after hitting the inner, but pretty much shreds anything in front of it.  Like Justin Wilson used to say, it shoots five times when the Game Warden isn't looking, and three when he is.
