Yes, please win some more because it isn't even fun to make fun of Michigan anymore. At least you have symmetry with the statement 10th in the Big 10.

Michael,
Regarding that Palm Beach in Ohio. My story is so foolish that if I
had any modesty I would never share it, however I've done it before,
and, well, as they say the truth will set you free.
I bought a Palm Beach sight un-seen that had been posted on ebay - no
title - bill of sale near Cleveland. I am in California. I had lots
of advise not to do it, but at the time the price seemed right, and
though I'm not a big boozer, I must have been feeling good, cause
after talking with the seller a few times I bought it. My story ends
well due in large part to the fine, honest work of Tom Hampton in
Marysville. He isn't cheap, or fast, but he seems trustworthy and I
had him go through the coach to make it safe enough to push home, if
need be. New brake lines, brakes, bearings, tires, 4bag and so on.
In hindsight its clear that I didn't make all the right decisions,
but as Teddy Roosevelt used to say - the best decision at the time is
the right decision.
As I say my story ends well. I got a real gem with my Palm Beach.
It already had lower gears, bigger brakes, newer fridge, water
heater, furnace, true tracks on the rear, lots of Ragusa parts, and
it's filled with green plaid! Next to this net, the best thing we
have going for us is these great vendors like Tom, and in my case, I
live just a few miles from Jim K's place. As painful as it is to
open my wallet, I don't have any regrets about the money I've spent.
These guys know what they are doing, and when you actually receive
quality for your money it takes the sting out of the bill.
I've done some repairs myself, but I work for a living and just don't
have the time to work on it as much as I would like. We are going
somewhere in it almost every weekend (since October) and just having
a ball.
Well, the point of this whole thing is that if that coach is not a
rust bucket, and is in good shape, then it might just be the coach
for you. Then, having it towed, pushed, or driven the 33 miles to
Tom's Grandview Motorhome in Marysville would be my first point of
business! I don't know what your budget is, it's different for all
of us, but if you've been looking for some time you'll know what
price seems right. Sheesh - I'd been lurking on this net since about
'99 and I finally brought my coach home last October!
Well, I've blown enough hot air for the night.

Mitch,
The Palm Beach for $3500 looks interesting -- but you would want a thorough check of the frame before commiting any $ to it -- even at the low price.

once again i believe people are talking about 2 different coaches
here.
the first link goes to a ugly maroon 74 gmc (somebody else called the color ugly first, i just happen to agree)
the second goes to a completely different 76 green palm beach.
if any of you guys hear about the palm beach going to the scrappers, and could somehow, anyhow see it in your hearts
to work with me to obtain this coach it would mean more to me than you could possibly know. i am not asking for a handout.
just somebody in a better fincial situation than i, to cut me a break,
i would be more than willing to even let the person hold onto
as collateral an expensive piece of rescue equipment that i have several fire equipment dealers trying to sell for me, and would repay in full on its sale.
thanks
Mitch
