Two PO before removed the furnace, I'm installing an Atwood model 8535, but thinking about putting the unit under the couch (to gain storage space in the galley) with only the burner air intake and exhaust to the outside, without the access door to avoid having to cut a wall rib
Has anyone blazed this trail before?
Looking to avoid wasting time and effort.

Thanks to ALL for the fine threads and the great info available.

If this Atwood is an external access model, how would you service it if you put it inside and only have the air intake and exhaust pipes extended to the outside? I guess it could be done, but would require a lot of effort later to do the most minor of service, wouldn't it?
