My second most favorite state behind Kansas raised the state speed limit for TRUCKS to 65 except for the 6 counties around Chicago.

In the past it has always been 55 INCLUDING RVs. I can not find anything online that says they also raised the speed limits for RVs but it probably includes us.

The speed limits have always been selectively enforced primarily on out of state vehicles. 80 to 85 is not uncommon on Chicago area Interstates for vehicles with Illinois plates.

Keep your eyes open for any additional information on RV's in Illinois to find out for sure if this includes us. The next time I go through Illinois, which I hope is a long time from now, I'll be watching so see if the RV speed limits signs have come down.

Now if I could just get Illinois to modify their tolls and gun laws, I might consider going to that state more often. Even though I'm only 17.5 miles from the state line I probably go over there less than 4 times a year. I worked for 25 years in Cook County, IL.

They also started a no texting while driving law today.
