I am rebuilding a GMC and need some info on occasion. I now need to know if
the screws attaching the dash under the windshield need to be replaced? They
were rusted, the old dash removed, and cleanup for a new dash is taking
place. Do these hold anything else together?

I can not answer your question but welcome to the group. Let me warn you, do not head toward Little Rock on 67. It is a real nightmare. Stay off that road. We came through there Friday. I would have shot the guy that designed the detour if I could have found him. No place for a GMC pulling a car.
Now, yall help this poor Arkansan out.

Dan

Welcome. I can not answer your question either but you will get an answer. This is a great group. You should include the year and model of your coach in your signature. It is helpful to those that will be answering you.
Here is a link to just about everything GMC.

Good luck with your project.

First,
Welcome to the asylum/cult/group.

May the Lord bless this coach and all those that setup within her. - to paraphrase a watermans greeting

I have been told that those screws hold only the dashboard, but I was also warned that they are very difficult to access with the windshields in place.

There are many here that will know as more than a few have had the complete dashboard removed and reinstalled (after considerable work to same).

Funny you should bring this up. I just pulled mine Dash out yesterday and all the screws had been gone for years. They don't seem to do a lot but, I'm considering making some "clips" that will hold the dash and the defroster vent assembly together. That looks to be the only issue, where the defroster vents will be blocked by the dash if it isn't held done properly

Oh, and Welcome

I see that I called you Dan. It was Dan who first replied to you. One of those dumb mistakes. Welcome again.

Welcome aboard!

I'm a little baffled by your question. If you've already removed the dash,
it should be obvious that those screws hold nothing but the flange of the
dash. If I were putting an old dash back in (which I doubt I'd attempt),
I'd certainly use new screws, probably stainless steel. But the additional
effort to build a new dash to replace the fragile, distorted old plastic is
IMHO a worthwhile investment. See:
