Just finished replacing upper and lower controls arms. Steve F replacements. Use a floor jack to hold up lower arm, remove shock and sway bar. Lower jack, relieve tension. Remove control arm bolts and giggy the arm off. Bar will be removable from there. Lots of steps but no killers.

I had one of the GMC repair shops tell me that they routinely remove the torsion bars using Bob D.'s description. He said it was much quicker and when they put it back together everything was automatically in adjustment.

Undo the shock, jack it up, and pull the bar.
