I have been negotiating with a client for a possible engagement in Spain to begin in April and last for 3 to 4 weeks. The engagement involves 3 cities in Southern and Eastern Spain and one in Southwestern France.

Has anyone here ever lived in or visited these areas?
What can you tell me about these areas?
Do we have any GMC owners in Spain?

I spent two days in Madrid once but is was 10 years ago, and all work with no time left over to see the country.

Ken,

My sister in-law lives near Mirepoix, about an hours
drive from Toulouse in southwestern France.

This is a great area to visit; lots to see.
Amazing food (she has owned several restaurants)
and folks are friendly.

Google some photos of the town square in Mirepoix
and check out the carvings on the old buildings,
really nice.

Go!

Hey, I found it about 50 miles north of Andora. I'll keep that in mind. I think I'll take a week or two extra and do some looking around. I lived, on two different occasions, in Cagnes-sur-mer (between Nice and Antibes) but I never made it that far west.

Ken,

Lucky you to have lived there.

My wife was raised in Grasse above Cannes.
We go visit her folks there every year.

Let me know if your trip firms up and I'll
'hook you up'.

Taking the coach?

I doubt that the client will stand for the shipping expense of getting the coach there and back again. Also fuel is kind of expensive. I usually rent a diesel car for the duration.

I doubt I'll go as far east as Cannes. I do have some friends in Vence and St.Paul.
