I am planning to look at a 76 Royal next week. The only thing I know for sure that needs attention is a ceiling panel.
I hope to get some response from "been there done that".
The owner says that the TV antenna was removed by the PO and their is a slight leak. It is obvious from the pictures I've seen that this one (original snake bite) panel has to be replaced asap.
My question is:
1- Can one replace just one panel without removing the other panels ?
2- How do you remove the strips that hold the panels in place ?
3- Do the wire covers on the sides snap out & in ?
Of course links to any pics would be helpful.
TIA
Thanks
Gary

Yes, one panel can be replaced, but it match it will be rough,
Side wire covers pop off ,but they will break as it has become brittle.
The strip filler can be pulled out.

Gary, you can get Panduit 3 inch wide covers to replace the yellowed ones in your coach. They have snap in place edges that are a tad too narrow for the GMC but you can cut one edge off, snap the other to one side of the wire chase underneath and secure them in place with a few screws.

Mostly for info:
All of the coachman coaches I have seen (Royale/Brichaven) used a thin plywood with a wall paper like covering. My PO removed the wall paper when it started coming off. The plywood looks OK without any covering but makes the inside of the Birch a little dark.
I am thinking that matching a plywood panel would be easier than matching most other ceiling panels.
