Yes, i've had the strange luxury of owning (2) GMCs for the past 7
years,
and yes, its been a long story! For those of you who know me, and my
ongoing project
SolarSonic... cutting to the chase, NOW might be a good time for me to
"diversify"...
So instead of 2 GMCs, perhaps the combo of my 26' Eleganza and some
smaller 20 foot rig might make more sense... like a Transvan or diesel
Roadtrek.... something that's easier to park around town, gets more
MPG,
and maybe even a little less expensive to maintain... bottom line:
Something that i could entrust to a crew member without that sinking
feeling as they take the wheel!
So I started floating an ad on Craigslist here in Los Angeles before i
even announced my intentions on this list
(haven't been reading the forum for a few months... maybe somebody
already spotted it and posted it?)
Here's the perma-link to the details: http://eklektro.net/76gmc_solar-studio.html
Yep, The Green Machine is a super-specialized rig... set up as a
mobile recording studio, with a heck of a lotta solar charge. I've
spent over $12,000 on upgrades ($6500 worth of solar alone) in the
past 18 months, and yes, if i can get my price of $17,500, i've
decided that i'll sell it. If not, then we'll just keep on truckin' !
Check it out!
and cheers,
Greg
PS: I turned down an offer for $15,000 yesterday... and for some
reason that reminded me that i hadn't even gotten around to posting to
the forum!

Greg,

I wonder if you might have luck with some of the major podcasters like Cali Lewis, Leo Laporte, or even the folks up here in San Francisco at CNET.  Your idea of solar for power is brilliant for a recording studio - totally silent.  Well, those pesky electrons do sometimes make noise, but only after coursing their way through my amplifiers!

I suppose what I'd love to see is the GMC getting more visibility in the podcast community.

And, yes, others outed you probably the same day you posted on Craigslist!

I'd have taken the $15K offer. Good offers on GMC's are few and far between these days. Rolling Eyes

Someone already did post a link to your coach. We were discussing the rear solar panel looking a bit like a spoiler!

If you have some more detail photos of the solar tech on the coach, many of us here would be interested in what you have done.
