Well, now I KNOW where we'll have to stop on the way to, or from, Montgomery
in the Spring. This I GOTTA see. :-)

I know Lanny will do a great job on it.

I think if I ever considered a stretch, I'd add two to three feet of the front of a 23 behind the cockpit and remove the middle door. I wish the 26' coaches had the door in the same place. I often wonder why they were not.

Also, Travel trailers seem to have a second door in the rear when they are over 24 ft. someone once told me this is a fire code, but I have never seen a two-door Air stream, for example, and never a two door coach. Maybe it's because trailers may become quasi-permanent homes? Anyone know?

Ken,

I agree; their current GMC is REALLY well done!

However, you're going to have to head a bit further west to "stop" in to see
Lanny & Bille as Kingsland is about 200 miles west of Montgomery!

Chris,

My GUESS is they put the door where it is on the '26 to put the convertible
dinette on the passenger side.

A GMC owner over in Perth, Western Australia put a door in the rear between
the gauchos to meet registration requirements. His workmanship was fantastic
as it looked like it came from the factory like that.

Ken,
The rv code states that there must be two means of egress, it can be 2 doors, or 1 door and 1 window of a minimum size ( I don't recall that size now ).

In our coaches the egress is the door and the rear window. And of coarse the 2 large windows at the couch and dinette can also be used to escape if a fire is right outside the door.

Hope that helps.
