Folks, I just barely missed a local set of 7 Alcoa hot-shots for $140. The guy told me that he sold them cheap because he got replacements. Doesn't Alcoa require you to send them back? if not, does a follow on owner end up out of luck perhaps because the serial numbers are logged with Alcoa? Just something to know when looking at a used set.

I have also noticed the newer hotshots have more rounded holes. I like the look of the older triangular holes, (I have five spokes on my truck) because they look more like five spokes. does that have anything to do with the recall?

Yes Alcoa wants them back. I don't know what they do if they don't get them.

Hotshots have never been the subject of a recall -- from the documentation I have seen.
