Well you learn a little something every day! I had never heard of the Vixen motorhome until you guys put me right.
Having a Vixen sports car and a Vixen motorhome has its appeal, but I think I prefer the GMC...

Thanks for the education
Richard

>Richard,
Nice car --
Perhaps Mike was thinking you meant Vixen motorhome -- from the mind of the Pontiac GTO/Delorean master.

Mike
here is a certain symmetry between my 2500 Vixen and the GMC. Both were
onceived in the early seventies as exercises in pure design - ie "what do we
ant this machine to do and what do we need to make it do that?" Both have a
ightweight, distinctive bodyshell on a sturdy chassis (the TVR is fibreglass on
ubular steel), with a low center of gravity, a funky suspension system (twin
hocks on each rear wheel of the TVR) and an oversized engine. The early Vixens
ad smaller, high revving engines for the UK market, but my 2500 was built for
he US (though never got there) with a straight 6, 2.5 litre (150 cubic inches)
win carb triumph engine. That's not huge, but good enough for a car about the
ize and weight of a big shoe. I'm aware that this is not a TVR forum (!) but
'm sure the bolt-on, bolt-off simplicity of the mechanicals and the frequent
ystery electrical problems I had when restoring my TVR are also attributes that
any GMC owners would
recognise...
I have a million pix back in the UK but just a couple of digital images here:

heers
ichard (with a nod to Rick's tagline brilliance and a wife who's job might just
eep us in the US for a bit longer so we can buy a GMC and get back on the road)
ister

My son (a little older than Richard's, 31 today) informs me that there is a
ive action version of Ben 10, with Lee Majors as Grandpa Max and a Royale for
he "Rust Bucket." I found a few video clips and got some captures.

Richard,
Any Pics of your Vixen? I always thought that it was close to what the initial
esign ideas where for the GMC.

Being the proud father of a 7 year old, I tend to spend more time than I care
o admit watching "Ben Ten Alien Force" on Cartoon Network. Ben's Grandfather
Grandpa Max) has a prominent role and drives around in a mobile laboratory,
hich looked strangely familiar...
