I notice in Jim B's Daily Pose, he's pulling out all the arguments to help a client collect a reasonable figue on his Total Loss.
If you don't have an AGREED VALUE, you're 'gonna get "handled. Don't blame the Insurance Company - Shame on You.

Agreed policies are not written by all companies-- what are they supposed to do, tell you they cannot take your money? You may have "coverage" but it will not pay you for your classic baby when something happens-- trust me, you do not want to be in this guys shoes! It has taken me all morning to compile what I have to try and help and it's a good bet is may not do squat, he did not fave an "agreed value policy" and here we are. I can hook you up with a company that writes agreed value policies for motorhomes-- thats their specialty. It's not my brother in law although one gal there does have the last name "Bounds". I just want to save you guys a huge heartache-- please check into this. OK, along with my automatic fire suppression soap box, I now have one foot on this soap box too!

Which companies are writing these policies? When I insured my coach with State Farm (who also does my cars, house, business, etc.), we put a value of $30,000 on the coach, but I'm not sure is it's "agreed value" or not. Obviously, it's time to pull out the policy and check.
I have several collector cars insured with them as 'Antique Vehicles', and that is an agreed value policy, but I'm not sure of the GMC's coverage. Obviously, someone is having a heck of a time with their insurance claim, and I can understand why Jim B is upset to be taking all his time talking to an adjuster.

If it's agreed value it will SAY agreed value on the declarations page.
Unless you see AGREED VALUE, you should assume it's NOT.
As for Jim B. having a hard time, it's 'cause (I suspect) he knows how this is going to end. Not well.
George: Don't you have the coach that was featured in the decorator magazine?
I THINK I found these folks thru the FMCA - In fact, they wrote agreed value and I didn't even have an appraisal (though I think there was an expectation I would eventually get one - if asked).

Run it over to Jim's shop. He will give you a good appraisal. Progressive is our "Agreed Value" insurer and we got the appraisal from Jim. You are fortunate to live so close to a shop like Jim's. Also, folks in the Orlando area are fortunate also, being close to the other Jim. I suspect Tom Hamton and Zeb Frady can also do the appraisals, along with Miguel. there may be others. the extra expense is on about 45 bux a year for us, over the normal fee. I would have liability only if I just used it locally but we sleep in the thing a lot, all over the USA.

People come to our place when they forget what an Ornamental looks like.
Lot of the time you do not need to have me look at the coach. I will
send over a person by to do a quick look. just to verify that it
exists.
