Possibly an easy question... what is the best size wheel cylinder to put on
the middle axle brakes. I do not want to change the master cylinder, and am
not looking for Porsche performance, just the better of the sizes, for some
increased effect ..

Comments are appreciated...
Thanks guys

You should be able to get buy with an 1 1/8" slave on the middle
bogey. That's what I use and so have many others. The 15/16" are the
stock size.

Would that larger cylinder result in more pressure or less pressure on
the shoes if nothing else were changed?

What is more useful,is to adjust the rear brakes every trip. the auto
adjust mechanism, seldom works.

The oem brakes will work, but you will need to pop-out the backing plate
plugs, and adjust them by hand. I replaced the entire internal mechanism on
all rear wheels, and it still would not stay in adjustment. So finally I
went to disk brakes

good luck

That's what I did. Well, actually, I put 1 1/8 on both rears and paid
the price for it on my first panic stop. Didn't have to hit me with a
shovel to figure out that that won't work very well.

it puts more pressure on the shoes. same press. from the master cyl. into a larger area in the slave means higher press. at the piston.
this is why Steve had to go back to the OEM on the rear wheels. he had too much force with the larger cyl.

I am an old adopter, and I have TSM with 70mm on all calipers, with the OEM
master cyl to get the 1000lb of pressure. I have this on the 26 and the 23

if you look here:
http://gmcmotorhome.info/brakes.html#calc

you will see you get more clamping pressure with the 6-70s and the OEM MS.
