Folks, I replaced my Black tank outlet flange since it was too brittle to hold any bolts.

Photos start here:

I can send a drawing to anyone who wants to do this. We actually did it on the fly on the tank.

Chris,
Nice welding --- I would be interested to know more about the O ring. Where did you source? Size?
Post photos of the macerator install as you progress.

Thanks,
Dennis

This is what I love about this site, lots of ingenuity and creativeness. There are so many options available on how to do things without breaking the bank !

Nice Job !

The "O-ring" is actually a slice off of a rubber coupling that happened to be the right diameter. It has square corners / flat edges. I am still playing with the proper thickness. Every major metro area has an industrial O-ring vendor, I may look at real O-rings as well.

Thinking of making this a kit that can be welded to anyone's tank.

Chris, what are you using for plastic welding? I saw HF has one on special for $60. Any advice?

I have a kit from Liester Mfg.

This kit is similar to mine, used the same heat gun.

http://www.leister.com/en/plastic-welding-product.html?catalog=1b301b71-fc43-4641-8ef0-506387c3ebfd&subcatalog=&product=b0ee6a73-bd43-4d6e-ac7 1-6255f0205543

The gun has the heater and the blower built in which makes it a bit bulky, but it works well.

It was not cheap.
