Last weekend I installed front wheel spacers and you can put me firmly in the "pro front wheel spacers" camp.
Only time will tell if the front wheel bearing doom and gloom will prevail but I can't believe the difference in ride.

Mark,

Is the difference in the ride, steering, wallow, or just responsiveness? Could you describe the difference the spacers made?

My steering still feels dead and I think it's a matter of not enough caster, but I'm open to suggestions.

The difference is in the darting from side to side in the wheel ruts at speed - unnerving.
I was ready to sell my coach.
The spacers make the coach feel more stable.
A 4" difference in tracks made no sense to me.
GM has done many smart things in their time, but this track difference was not one of them.
I'v eyet to hear a good reason for the difference.

Best $280 that I've spent.

All this problem started after the radial tires came out.
My firsr coach I purchased in 1980 had bias belted tires. Never had
problems till I changed to radial.
Radial tires tend to clinb the ruts. The front ones go to one side,
the rear to other.

I also am only able to navigate my driveway on dry pavement. I put
spacerson the front wheels a couple years ago and then could not get
up even on dry
pavement. It upset the geometry enough to cause the front tires to
alternately spin and at the same time bounce the front end of the coach to
the right. Almost wound up in my neighbors yard over about a 30 foot cliff.
Someone suggested backing up, which I mastered but always had a lump in my
stomach each time. Finally gave up and took off the spacers. Now I am back
to square one.

Enjoy the link.

Do you think weight transfer had anything to do with this?

Bob,
Your problem of not being able to climb up the drive way is all about
the A frame gromets being worn. Change them out then you'll not have
the problem.
I agree that it changes the geometry, but it is minor.
