The inlet bungs on my black tank (73 23ft) were cracked and the welds failing. The tank top at the inlets had small cracks.
The suggested remedies ranged from new tank to glue on patches.
The final choice was plastic welding at a local tank fabricator.
Here's the finished job -- a new plate complete with threaded bungs welded over the old inlet locations.

Here was the before...

Thank you to all for the suggestions. Helped to have the different experiences and perspectives.
New question -- any one have photos of a macerator install on a 23 ft GM finished coach like my 73?

Dan,
Yes, the Plastic shop was super -- they do mostly large scale industrial projects. CNC machines, lathes, quite a nice operation and very nice people.
I don't know if the dimensions are the same between a 23 and 26 -- any photos would be appreciated.
The local RV shop has a Valtera fitting, large 3 inch elbow with a 3 inch slide valve on one end, a drain cap on the other and a 1 1/2 inch tee off the elbow with a slide valve there. Looked like a compact way to set up a macerator, especially if a side dump for the 3 inch was acceptable.

Thanks Rob,
Yes, I was very pleased.
Whenever reasonable and possible I like to salvage the old parts. They usually fit better too!
