Wow,
This really works! I can see my GMC parked in front of my house. Be sure to turn on street view in the layers section.
Looks like the photo is about 3-4 weeks old. I've moved my GMC since then. I can almost read my license plate!

I can see my coach in my driveway too.......reminds me of how it broke my back to do my entire remodel with the coach at an angle in the sloped driveway....I really need to pour a pad next to my garage !

Can be seen at: 2202 N 115th St, Wauwatosa, WI

I googled up 288th street East and 8th Ave East Roy WA 98580 and you
can still see the lime marks we used to lay out for the rally we had
last summer. Sorry, only two GMCs in the yard..............Terry

Are you guys watching the lack of progress at 4312 Union, 27609?

The good news is that the engine still turns. I discovered that the radio
works if I turn on the lights! Go figure!

Google Streets is way wrong on my road. Even if you know where to look you can just barely make out the front of Chaumiere down the drive and through the trees.

But she can be seen from Google Earth just fine.
42 9.596, -086 24.855 (which pretty much agrees with three different GPS and celestial sights done before that).
You will see her waiting in front of the barn.

Ken
Check the wire that grounds the radio. You might have it connected to the wire that comes from the headlight switch to the instrument lights.

I first posted this back in 2002 and it has solved more than one person's problems with the radio and/or their panel lights.

> For anyone putting in a new radio, bear in mind that the GMC original radios used a separate wire for the panel light in the radio so that it could be dimmed when one wanted to dim the dash lights. Not all newer radios use this feature.
>
> There is a grey wire that connected to the original radio for the panel light. If one were to test this wire with the dash lights off, it would appear to be a ground wire as it would ground through several instrument panel light filaments to ground. If this wire is used to connect to the radio ground wire it turns out that the radio will work just fine as the resistance of several bulb filaments in parallel will not put much resistance in the circuit.
>
> The problem is that when the lights are turned on, the current through the dash light fuse is immediately shorted to ground through the radio and will burn out and the dash lights will not work. If anyone is planning to install a new radio you may want to keep this in mind.
