Good Afternoon
Does anyone have any dimensional info on the Coachmen dry bath shower stall and what clearances exist between the rear wheel well and the shower and the refrigerator next to it, etc?
My furnace duct going to the back bedroom must be crushed, damaged, torn or something, because we get absolutely no air back there even with the brand new furnace that has a very high powered blower. I've heard some people say that Coachmen just set the shower stall down and crushed the duct, but I need to find out the dimensions so I can fab a new eliptical one to fish through.
Three weekends ago we went camping to northern Wis and it got down to 23 degrees.....climbing back into bed was like climbing into a deep freezer......I'm not fond of sleeping with a hoodie sweatshirt, long johns and wool hunting socks on. I was so ticked off I came home and winterized the coach and put it into storage, not what I really wanted to do......so I think I'll address the heat issue.
Any help would be appreciated.

WOW, 12 vdc electric blanket......sounds like a great idea.
I actually stopped at the coach after work.....thought, this duct doesn't work so I may as well rip it out.....sure thing, there must have been 3' of duct crumpled up under the refrig all crushed. I can get some good flexible and run two 2 1/2" and it should work great.
But I do like the blanket idea.

12 volt electric blankets work really well, and they pre-heat the bed.
They come with a timer and if you get cool in the evening or in the morning,
just turn them on.

Ray,
You're really on to something. The trick will be splitting off the larger
duct. Going into two smaller ones should offer little resistance.
There are times I wish we had the side bath instead of the rear. It really
gets colder back there but at least we have heat coming out just before the
rear end.
We also open our cabinet door to let the hot air out. One of these days I'll
install a small fan, like in a computer, to switch on when in the heating
season to keep the air flowing out from there. Our silverware gets toasty.

Thanks Byron.....making an adaptor to split from a 4' to two smaller ones will be a piece of cake.
I did pick up a small 12vdc 4" dia whisper fan from McMaster, mounted it right on the furnace between the furnace and the 4" duct plate.....even THAT didn't get me any heat to the rear. You should have seen the mess of duct just rolled up and crushed...unreal.
I have found numerous Coachmen items like that......my PO had put in a beautiful brand new Dometic Refrig, well it never did cool well since the day I bought the coach.....by coincidence I put on a new roof low profile refrig vent, and guess what I found.....coachmen cut the hole in the roof, then installed the paneling and NEVER CUT THE HOLE IN THE PANELING. Needless to say the paneling was as dry and crisp as a potato chip, wonder where all of the heat went for the last 30 years and I wonder why there was never a fire?? Oh, and my refrig works perfect now !

The trick I was referring to was getting the air to flow instead of hitting
a bunch of flat stuff that would provide resistance. I've seen too many
ventilation systems designed or installed incorrectly.
The fan I want to put in place will be behind a grill on one of the cabinet
doors. With the drawers and cabinet doors closed the Suburban gets
surrounded by a bunch of heat that could be better used out in the coach
than trapped.
I believe the story about the venting of the refrig. Mine was vented. I
guess I got the smart crew on the day they did that. There are other issues,
of course.
Another project is to wrap insulation around the duct which another guy did
on the Net in order to get more warm air to the back of the coach.
By the way, we just replaced our 30-year-old Suburban for a new one. Man,
the difference in the noise is amazing. The other night I kept listening for
it to kick on. The old fan definitely bothered my sleep.

I recently installed a Suburban SF30 low profile, the quietness, amount of heat and power of the fan is incredible. All I need is some good duct to the back.

Wow, we have one of those as well. In fact I put in an extra 12v outlet on
the right hand side panel so Joanne could plug in. A good place to find
those 12v electric blankets is at a good truck stop. In California we have
some truck stops with lots of stuff but I hear that in the mid-west and back
east they have huge truck stops with virtual supermarkets full of goodies
like lights, radios, chrome stuff, etc. Love to check one of those out
sometime.

There are truck stops south of Chicago that I think can park 50 to 75 trucks......also one near Indianapolis that is gigantic.....the stations are like supermarkets, awesome bathrooms with showers, etc., must be a truckers dream !

Wow, we have one of those as well. In fact I put in an extra 12v outlet on
the right hand side panel so Joanne could plug in. A good place to find
those 12v electric blankets is at a good truck stop. In California we have
some truck stops with lots of stuff but I hear that in the mid-west and back
east they have huge truck stops with virtual supermarkets full of goodies
like lights, radios, chrome stuff, etc. Love to check one of those out
sometime.
