I bit the bullet September 1 and purchased a nice low mileage 73
exglacier. I drove it home 480 miles without any problems. It has the
original blue seats and white vinyl dinette seats that show little wear and
75,000 on the clock. The PO spent a ton on mechanicals, front and rear
wheelbearings, brakes, engine, belts, hoses, air compressor, shocks, new
tires, air conditioner, etc. It has been repainted beige and it's not the
best paint job but will do and doesn't look bad from afar. It has spent
it's entire live in the dry NM desert and has NO rust. It still needs
a little TCL, the 4000 Onan runs, but won't charge and a few other minor
issues but is basically sound. I got it for $5000 which should leave me
room for upgrades like the 4 bag system and Alcoas. I was a carpenter in my
other life and have lots of ideas on the interior. I already purchased 4
Honda leather seats for the cockpit and to replace the dinette. Thanks for
all your ideas, I really enjoy this community.

Welcome aboard!
Sounds like a nice coach. Post pictures on the GMC photo site when you can.
As for the generator -- here is a link to Gene's site, look under generator for trouble shooting tips.

Welcome aboard!

Check out all the GMC websites and you will get more ideas that you will have time for. The coach can keep you busy forever!

The GMC Coop in Orlando, Florida has a nice website with pictures of several coaches that they have redone, and the GMC photo site should also be able to give you lots of ideas. Check them out if you haven't seen them yet.

Paul,

We're a pretty greedy bunch here - always asking for more details and pictures!!!

I'd love to see the progress of your new coach, and how you go about making it your own.

More details and pictures, please!!!

Paul:

Welcome aboard!

Keep us up todate with your progress. Use it as often as you can during restoration. All work and no use makes for a grumpy RVer.

I was raised in Amarillo, graduated from Palo Duro 1959 and West Texas A & M University 1971 and all of my kids still live in Amarillo.

Welcome from another Newbie Paul.

I beat you to it by a Month and have been working on it every day since. I trust that you will enjoy it as much as I do.

This Community is a Gold Mine, and like mining it takes some learning to get the most from it. The folks here are great teachers as well as guidance counselors. Use them, they seem to enjoy that
Best Regards
