If you want to chop our legs and try to pull a grout buy go for it.

George

Group buys are not the benefit that you might think they are.
If you have any problem with what you are buying who is going to stand
behind it?

I feel that one is much better off going to one of the GMC parts
suppliers who stocks them. They buy in quantity and will probably has
as good or better price than you will achieve with the hassel of
putting together a group buy and having someone buy them and then have
the cost of reshipping them and collecting the money from a lot of
different parties.

I know that Jim Bounds and Jim Kanomata both stock them and have good
prices on them.

I just replaced both front and back marker lites. Lense is the same shape, they are just LED's. $7.99 ea plus shipping.
marker lites went through 3 stages that I know of, metal based bulb type, glass base bulbs, then LED's.Need to change screws as supplied to 6/32" X 1 1/2", I used brass screws. Dry-wall plug was used to replace screw receiver in body, for bad unit.
Lights my coach up like a X-mas tree

George-
I'm actively working on this. Several suppliers sell replacement LED
market lights using the same part number and similar prices. I've
gotten quotes for quantities of 100, 200, and 400 units and the margin
is less than 15% when shipping is considered. Since I am dealing with
direct sellers as opposed to distributors, there just isn't that much
margin to offer discounts.
There is no mark or ID on the units that would lead me to a
manufacturer, importer or distributor so it just isn't working.
Any ideas?

JimK and JimB both have complete LED marker light kits. Just call them and get them from our reliable suppliers. A 100 light buy would require 10 coaches (at 10 per coach). I'm not sure that it is worth the hassle, plus you have the additional cost of packing and shipping out to the individual members of the group.
They also have a LED replacement for the door light.

Just my take on the subject. But, if we don't support our proven GMC suppliers with the little items as well as the big items, they may take their marbles and go home.

I bought mine a few years ago before any of the GMC suppliers became interested in supplying them. Then Scott Nehoda (Fantastic vents) decided to sell them. He eventually got out of it. I assume he was buying them at market price so there was little room for any reasonable markup. It is kind of hard to make much money on an item that sells on the open market for less that $7.00 and your cost is $7.00 plus shipping.

I used to sell the LED marker light several years back. Just could
not compete with the suppliers out there already. The margin is so
small it is just not worth the effort. Better to buy from one off our
suppliers or direct from the various light suppliers.

Gordon, I picked up the source on ebay, in Ohio,i think. Search for LED clearance lights. I just did a clear out, and threw away all packaging. One color came from a company in MI, the other color is from Los Angeles area, IMO, both are made in China.
Lens and base are a one piece plastic, on a rubber pad. Red ones , 24 LEDs only have one wire, it is susposed to ground to the 'metal body with the mounting screw, i connected ground wire to an eyelet that I put around the mounting screw. Amber lites ,13 LEDs are 2 wire from lite, just hooked up the wires,
Receivers in coach body are 6/32" machine screw thread, I changed to brass X 1 1/2 ".

Be careful in removing old lites, pulling up wires come apart at bullet connectors in void under headliner area, pain to fix. side note, bullet fastners, as used on English cars tend to corrode and not make contact.

In removal of old lights, threaded receiver in body for mounting screws, sometimes pull out. can be replaced with#6/32" X 1" hollow wall anchors, once in place, hard to tell apart from originals

Awaiting shipment on new striping, guess what I am doing this week-end?????????
