I have yet to attend a rally but have spent plenty of time (& money) waiting for that day. Unfortunately, with all of the money spent, nothing special was done in the ways of future lubrication when my hubs were rebuilt. I will certainly remedy that, so am very interested in your design - especially since there won't be more than 10 available!
I was unable to reach your pictures, however, even after logging in. Could you please repost the link?

We will be making up more for sale in several days after our designer
does the drawing and receive quotes from few machine shops.

It looks potentially elegant and won't require any drilling of my newly-minted knuckles, so I am pleased that I did not wander down that path.
Now if I could only get my hands on the 8.1L conversion components! It's really what is holding me up because I see the old 455 - as it is w/80K miles - as a major liability, even though it has good compression (140 PSI+/-). I have a fresh Manny Tranny, upgraded with billet steel bearing supports just waiting for the 8.1L engine. That would complete my "optimum configuration" for reliability.
If anyone else besides Dave Lenzi has been working on a similar conversion, I haven't heard of it.

I'm going to sound like a DOLT here, but I'm having a hard time understanding how this works ??
Won't the grease just slide through the splines? How does it get forced up into the bearings ??
Is there a cut-a-way drawing of the hub and this tool in place ??

Once you separate the unit you'll see that the grease will go int the bearings.

Ray,
The tool clamps to and seals against the smooth area of the CV joint shaft
where the inner race of the inner wheel bearing rides. It also seals up
against the lip of the inner wheel bearing seal.

i've talked to SOB owners that have 454 engines and they don't get any better gas mileage than we do; some got less.
i guess the advantage is in having a modern engine with less maintanance.

Mark,
If I only had 80K on my 455, I would really be happy. I have over 130K on
my 455, still good compression, doesn't use much oil, has really excellent
oil pressure, good vacuum, good power, no knocks, what does a new engine do
better?

I would wait for Dave L. to finish the kit. He will have a kit that will work.
Dynosource took lot of shortcuts that was creating problems.
I'm currently working with Thorly and Hal Kading on a Tri Y Header for
8.1 engines.
