Need some advice. I'm replacing the gray water tank dump line, a 3 inch abs plastic pipe that is connected to the gray water tank via a rubber grommet. The abs pipe is clamped to the rubber grommet which is attached to the tank by means of deep groves, around the circumference of the grommet, which slip onto the hole in the tank.
Here's the nitty gritty - the tank opening is 3 and 3 quarters inch, which according to the grommet instructions, is the correct size. However, once installed, the rubber grommet is a bit loose and thus prone to leaking, which is why I'm doing this messy job in the first place!
My question is, what compound will stick to both the rubber grommet and the gray water tank, which is made out of polypropylene plastic that resists all common adhesives? Simple plumber's putty might work, but I think I need something that will harden up and provide a rigid joint.
Appreciate any advice!
Thanks,
