We are at the GMC Eastern States meeting in Elkhart wrapping it up
There was a presentation today by Leon Hershberger
of National RV Refrigeration, Shipshewana, Ind.
He indeed is Amish and has a website!!
It is www.fixyoutfridge.com
Seems Amish have great expertise/experience in ammonia absorption type
refrigeration cause that is what the Amish can use, propane fired.

Leon is a younger guy but inheirted the business and expertise from his
elders.
Leon demo-ed in front of the group how to remove and replace a complete
refrigeration system from an RV fridge.
Took very lil time.

They offer several options:
New complete units [vicinity of $1,000]
Used complete units [varies]
Rebuilt complete units [vicinity of $600]
Replacement cold side systems complete [vicinity of $350+]
Repair your unit [vicinity of $350 to 500]
Exchange your unit [varies]

Pricing is VERY competative; [depends on one or 2 door models]
Excellent warentee also.
And they will replace your defective unit with a good working one using UPS
and even include detailed instructions

Seems that one with modest skills can do this repair to an ailing unit.

They are a dependable source and can even repair your unit while you wait if
you call ahead for a time slot.
Dont even have to plan to leave it; can do it in your RV or pull uinit out
and repair on their shop floor.
Good source and worth a trip to the area to enjoy the Amish life style and
ambiance, An endearing area of the USA

This is the kind of material and exposure one can get by attending a rally
and you cant be a successful/happy GMC owner unless you do attend.
