I posted in the swap meet section to see if anyone was selling a replacement hood fan. ... didn't get much action.

That said, does anyone have a suggestion to replace the 8" 12v hood fan?
Tho only thing I've found are 200mm computer fans which might be a little whimpy:

http://shopping.redorbit.com/product.php?productid=8443192

and this thing which might suck stuff off the stovetop:

Any better ideas?

Grainger and McMaster have a variety of 12 volt axial fans, check them out.

Mike;
I have a spare, but you are at the other end of the earth.
This is not a GMC part so you should find one from any junked SOB.

Ok, I'll ask, what is a Hood Fan for?
I just might need one too!

Richard;
It is for the stove not the engine hood. Blows the cooking orders out
the side of the coach.

Don't need to eliminate cooking odors, they're to make you hungrier.

Thanky, glad I don't need one, going to get rid of the LP on Huckleberry, eventually go all electric. Heh, just another project.

You should still keep it. It is always advisable to exhaust the moisture from cooking out of the coach. I plan to do most of my cooking outdoors anyway. I prefer to cook outdoors when I camp.

Mike,

Do an eBay search for bilge fan or bilge blower.

http://tinyurl.com/ygsaudm

http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m38.l1313&_nkw
=bilge+fan&_sacat=See-All-Categories

They are small and move lots of air! I have one for each of my GMC's along
with a range hood like this:

http://tinyurl.com/yfbxygc

http://www.caravansplus.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPat
h=27_209&products_id=7672&osCsid=61f6b4bd14ad403e598102bcffb
bfa7c

I modified this hood by moving the outlet from the middle to the right side
so I could mount the bilge fan up against the cupboard divider. It lines up
directly with the original vent through the roof of Double Trouble.

The really nice thing about this range hood is you get the cupboard space
back except for the 3" duct at the side!

I had to bring the one I have in Double Trouble from Australia as I've never
seen one in the USA.

Rob Mueller
