Is there some magical place that sells a 4" bath faucet that both looks nice and has the shower diverter? these things are all ugly. So much in fact that I may just install a regular shower valve on the wall in the bath. Has anyone done that?

Regular shower valves have been installed and there are at least a couple of those installs documented on the photo site. One of them is here:

That album also shows a Price Pfister faucet installed, which has a pull out sprayer. I have wondered about using a faucet like that in place of the shower head, but I think the biggest problem with that plan is that the length of the hose on the pull out sprayer is not really long enough to use as a shower head.

Hey Chris,
In the process of just that. Have purchased separate 4" shower valve with hose outlet, hose , spray, holder and 4" cs lav faucet in satin brushed nickel (chrome) with designer type lever handles for less than $40 for all 6 pieces on the dreaded eBay. I just kept trolling for faucets under eBay motors.
There is a block of wood width-wise on back module wall for towel-bar support that I'm mounting valve in.
Don't question your plastic plumbing decision. The old plumber in me was dieing to get back to the copper tube but am sorry I did. 10' Stick of 1/2"L 19.86 and 6 jump size tee's and elbows for $23 yesterday. arrrggghh!
