Hi All,
Still in Cheyenne Wyoming, was hoping to get out today (Sunday) but
visibility is very poor and there is still plenty of snow.
We are aborting our journey north to Yellow Stone and hopefully
tomorrow we will head west out of this altitude and by the look of
reports head to where we will encounter plenty of rain. We appear to
be experiancing 4 seasons in 1 in the short time we have been here in
USA .
Thank you to those people who have emailed us with best wishes and
advice on how to negotiate (drive) in the conditions we currently find
ourselves in.
When we return to Australia we will be heading into our summer and
that is surely looking good at the moment , we have had enough of this
white stuff.

Be careful if you take I-80 West, only 40 miles from you is a pass that can
be pretty tricky this time of year, hit it about noon so the sanding and
plow trucks have it as clean as possible. From there, if you see the signs
flashing about high winds, STOP, your coach would not handle the winds
across Elk Mountain. The forecast shows more snow along I-80, and that is a
treacherous road when winds couple with that nasty white stuff. You might want
to look at I-70 as a means to get west as well, it seems that at times is
clear like the north route while I-80 is closed.
If you are able to travel north on I-25 to I-94, you can see a lot of the
same terrain, and travel West across Montana, Right now, the forecast for
Wyoming is more of what you have, and I JUST had a truck navigate I-90 and
I-94 across Montana with mostly cold but clear roads, light snow off to the
roadside but good traveling.
Once you hit Idaho on the northern route, there is a LOT of scenery
traveling down to the National Parks of California which are doing well right now
as far as weather.
Should you come across Washington on your trip, stop for coffee, always
some on, and a place to park and freshen your coach too.
Good luck and sorry you hit our Flaky weather, but Colorado and Wyoming
this time of year are always in flux, Many a time had snow before Halloween
there.

Yep I cannot stand that white stuff, Mid to high 20s(C) here, yesterday. Washed the GMC, watched the Bathurst 1000,lit the barbie, thongs and T-shirt weather for the last 2 months.
Du Quion Illinois, hey we went there in '88 for the street machine nationals, had a blast the whole town seemed to be involved. May be thats what we have done, swapped a muscle car for a Muscle Motorhome!

Yes, it used to be the home of the Street Machine Nationals. The word I got, from our local TV news, was that folks got out of hand and they canceled it. I never got to attend. Was raising a family and never had enough time or money. I will be at the GMC convention though. That should more than make up for missing the Street Machine Nationals. I might even drag a hotrod vdub up there or my 65 Mustang fastback, if I can figure a way to hook a tow bar to it.
