Greetings from South Georgia,

We've got 29 GMC's here at what Woodall's recently rated as the best RV
park in Georgia. (Wonder how much that cost 'em? -- It's nice, but not
THAT nice!) This is the second time we've had a rally here and will
probably be back some day.

Despite the world's worst acoustics in the clubhouse, we had a business
meeting this morning. One of the motions was to the effect that our
rally master is directed to give primary consideration (extreme cost
being a possible negative factor) to having our Fall '10 rally at
Winston-Salem, NC in conjuction with FMCA Further, to encourage the
other GMC clubs in the Eastern US to do likewise. As has been mentioned
before, and confirmed by those several of our members who were at the
last, all day long, FMCA business meeting, FMCA is offering "the moon"
to get GMC's to participate. They're promising to allow us to all park
together, under our own control, regardless of when we arrive. Also
"guarantee" at least electricity, honey wagons, and hopefully H20. We
could do the GMC community a big favor by having a large GMC turnout for
that rally. So, everyone, please encourage your clubs to join us at the
mid-Oct 2010 FMCA rally in NC. Let's show the SOB owners what REAL
motorhomes are like. :-)

We are encouraging Cascaders to attend the Redmond,OR rally next summer,
partly due to the info you mention, so we are not wedged in amongst the
SOB's.

October is a bad month for Teri and me. When is the one in Redmond? We might be able to make that one.

Hoping we get some power numbers, so we dominate the scene, and enjoy all
the SOB owners asking WHAT are we? A new coach?

I know of at least 5 going so far.

I have found at the FMCA rallies that Jane and I have attended that most FMCAers know of and many have owned GMCs. Bowling Green was interesting and fun. FMCA did a great job at organizing the overall function. Now if they could only surgically remove the windbags from the microphones during the board meetings, life would be good.

FMCA is putting out the olive branch to us GMCers, now it is up to us. Speaking of which. ..... what was discussed on this subject at the GMCMHI rally?

I am sure this will be in the newsletter. A fella from FMCA spoke with us for about an hour. He was a nice guy and seemed very friendly toward GMC owners. He said we can park together, whether we come in together or not, and that we may have our own folks parking us. They will do what they can to get full hookups for those wanting them, recognizing that our stock holding tanks are small. I am sure they are losing numbers and need us now, to attend the rallies. This is the best information that I can recall. Some left Pueblo and were attending the FMCA rally at Farmington this coming week.

One thing about a GMC'r, we are loyal to our coach and stick it out during
bad times.

Ken,

Thanks for the double note -- The campground where you're currently in a
rally and the future FMCA rally.

I agree and will do what I can to support the FMCA rally. FMCA is more than
about 44-foot diesel pushers with slide outs for those with lots of money to
burn before their kids get it.
