I suspect a lot of folks will be hitting the roads Monday enroute to our gathering. Teri and I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable ride out there. We plan to leave here Tues or Wed and make a 2 day tip out of it. Have a cheap campgound pegged in south Ks. that is half way for us. We are anxious to see everyone. Seems like forever since Dothan. Maybe we will run across some GMCs as we travel. I'll have the tracker running for folks to see our progress.

Our scenic tour starts in two days. Mary and I will be leaving South
Pasadena early Sunday morning, and heading to Pueblo via Las Vegas, St.
George, Zion, North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Utah route 89 up to Interstate
70, then over the Rockies and down into Denver, and south to Pueblo, with a
few stops along the way.

We, and another couple, will be leaving Monday from Washington state. We will be traveling through Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming and Colorado. Expecting to be there in Pueblo on Friday. We have the casino, fairgrounds and Walmarts set up
enroute to stop overnight at. So much to do to get ready but so ready to go. See you there Dan & Teri.

Thanks for the warning Gary. It's actually 10,850 feet according to Mountain Directory West. Unless I'm mistaken, there aren't too many routes heading to Pueblo from the west that don't have at least one high summit, unless you travel way down south and then back up Hwy 25 in New Mexico. I recently bought some property in Duck Creek, UT and made a test run up there in the GMC a few weeks ago. That trip up the hill from Cedar City has a 10,000 ft summit with about 4-5 miles of 8% grade. I made it up towing my Mazda 3. I was only going 20mph in 1st at times, but I made it. That said, I do plan to talk to Jim K. about changing out my 3.42 for a 3.70 and adding another trans cooler. Maybe someone with a 3.07 would be interested in my 3.42 with only about 5K on it.

I actually talked to Jim yesterday about a 3.55 for my 23'. Seems like it
makes sense especially if you are towing.

There are many options for final drives all by themselves, including
3.21 (planetary gears), 3.42 (12/41), 3.55 (11/39), 3.70 (10/37), and
4.10 (which uses magick gears). Jim Kanomata has made and sell the
3.55, 3.70, and 4.10 final drives. The 3.42 is available from
Cinnabar, and the 3.21 came from another application of the era.
There is also the modified chain drive, which provides the same effect
as a 3.50 final drive. That means the modified chain drive increases
the ratio by 14%, which can, of course, be applied to any of the final
drives, making combined drive ratios of 3.66, 3.90, 4.05, 4.22, and
4.67 (theoretically) possible.

Ken,
You switched Cinnabar and Marvin Peck. I have one of Marvin's
3.46
gears, but I'm not going to open it up to count the teeth. Come
to think of
it, I might have that info in the original literature.

Grace and I are planning to leave our shop in Fremont Tuesday PM and take
the southern route.
We had some customers that developed some problems with there coaches on the
way.
Our coach is not running yet so wish me luck as I might need to do most of
the work on it myself as our guys are busy with Cash paying customers.
