Information is the key draw for rallies. Don't know how many you've
attended but it should be on your list of things to do. My
understanding is, GMCMI is not a technical club nor an internet one.
The parts book is worth the price of admission, the rest is gravy.
Previous to GMCMI's rebirth, you couldn't get the time of day without
a price. Stick with it as it evolves in the future. It's getting
better with time.

Billy did go through the parts interchange, he sought the vendors help. I was happy to help and with the format of prompting people to call the specialty vendors for help and further information, I feel he has give those interested in finding specific parts all they need to know to help them. Actually, all they really need to do is call one of the specialty GMC vendors and we will do all we can to help them, it's our job.
True, many companies are superseeding parts and many are getting grouped, isn't it good you are not left out there to fend for yourself? Of course if you want to you can do that but with the GMCI interchange book, at least you do have somewhere to go and that was the intent-- not to have it all (which would be impossible) but to give the reader options.
Billy did a super job at not only helping the club membership but also helping us vendors and that alone is a great reason to support them. If you think the interchange needs to be reworked, you may be lookng at an old one, do you have a new one?

That GMC parts book is very good but somebody needs to go through it from top to bottom and update it. I am not a member so this isn't a complaint, only a recommendation. The first thing I did when I got my latest copy was to go through it and update it. I would say that at least half of it is obsolete part numbers. Allot of companies are changing their P/Ns often so somebody needs to take the lead to keep that thing updated. It's at least 5 years behind the times. I have been making the same updates for at least that long but the old numbers are still in there in the latest edition.

Let me translate Roger's 'southern' accent. That should be "Uh huh" on the
interchange! <VBG>

Mike-
For a Canadian, you're getting pretty good at this Southern accent.
Don't forget that I'm originally from North Florida going back eight
decades myself and five generations before that.
What are you doing up so late? Are you at Ken's Aunt's place?

David, yeah it was a knee jerk reaction on my part. I frequently suffer from
foot in mouth disease but it occurred with a much higher frequency when I
was younger. It is a subject that I am directly and indirectly involved in
and know how vital these vendors are and how great friends they are. This is
only my personal opinion & if I hurt any feelings that didn't deserve it I
respectfully apologize.
