Emery had the best idea.
On my '73, when I had to take off the back wall (8 screws, but not a big deal) to install my water heater, I found a hot wire that would have been used for a Thermosan had that option been installed which it wasn't. I'd take Emery's suggestion, but there may well be a random source of power already there. Sniff around your fresh water tank.
