Road Warrior, Please post your name, We have nothing to hide, everyone in the GMC community is genuine and most all are willing to help. It's much easier to talk to a person with a real name.
The bracket can be fill welded and machined back to a perfect circle. We line bore heavy equipment all the time. BUT! I would simply get one from a donor coach. Note the alignment procedures when re-installing the swing arm and bracket. If the shims are good save them. While the bracket is off I would look at treating the frame with a good zinc coating before re=installing the bracket, I use Master Coat.
Also, check into the modified grease fittings.
This is at least a start. It's really not difficult at all.
Take care and good luck,
Tom K.
