You do need to replace it if original as the rubber inside will give
problems.

What Jimmy the K said. Also, the rather expensive valve from a 300 six '85 F - 150 will work. If I ever put a rear tank back in mine, I'll put the valve in and the switch, both of which have been removed before I got it. Replacing the rear tank requires removing or at least lifting the bed from the frame. Not gonna happen unless I want to go traveling in it.

Thanks Jim. I do have a new valve I bought from you. I tested it and it works fine. The hot wire to the valve is not getting power. I was hoping it was a bad fuse I missed, but it looks like I’m going to have to trace the wire. The gas gauge are working for both tanks. Am I missing something?
