Hopefully this is the last of my steering play issues.
There is a universal joint inside the steering column where it tilts. The universal joint has a spring loaded split plastic sphere which is worn in mine (see link to YouTube video below).
The sphere kit is cheap at $10 bucks from Rockauto. The current part number is ACDelco 26026564. The kit seems to have an upgraded spring assembly design over the original.
I also installed a new ignition key lock tumbler ACDelco D1402B @$22 and the ignition switch rack and gear assembly kit Dorman 83211 at $10 bucks from Rockauto as well.
