I am getting a burning rubber smell on a 91 Mercury Grand Marquis. The
serpentine belt is fairly new, tensioned and looks OK. Trying to think
where else to be looking.

NO WAY! Was a sad day when FoMoCo killed the Panther platform. I've got hundreds of skidpad laps in old police Crown Vickies. Pretty much all of them with a big smile on my face...

Sometimes the plastic wheel well liners and undertrays can come loose and rub on stuff, or fall on hot exhaust parts.

You sure it is rubber and not something electrical getting hot?

Does it happen while being a towed or when driven?
