drive the GTO if the coach is not ready. you will find many people still bring their "not ready coach" I have been to two GMCMI rallys where the coach next to me was gutted and the owner was sleeping on a cot or folding chair.

should hopefully be a great gathering. unfortunately with the canada border still closed, it is going to be tough for some of the Canada owners to make the trip.

talking with Kim Weeks this weekend, it sounds like many things are planned and should be a good week.

We have been to several/many rallies with an incomplete MH. When it was gutted, we attended in a blinding rain storm. Gave me the opportunity to look for leaks under real life circumstances and fix the before putting things back together. Also gave us a real appreciation for how nice it was when done. So, when safe to drive, bring it!! JWIT

I would bring the MH(Thunderwagon) but the only problem is the tires are so
weatherchecksd they would probably blow out before getting there. I have it
running like it is new. So that would not be a problem. The GTO is still
off the frame. Trying to get the MH ready for a trip to Mt. next year. Hope
to see you guys at the Falls

Gene,
You will be our guest, so you do not need to join.
Be sure to Sign in and get bagged, as you do not need to have people
question you.
Having served on an off the Beard for over 12 years, I know some of the

Oh, It is a Convention as there are some formalities so things run smoothly.
Rallies are informal and run rather loosy goosy.
GMC International Convention have over 100 coaches and over
twohundred people, so things must be regulated.

Having served on an off the Board for over 12 years, I know some of the protocol.

What I would like to add on a very personal note is that you don't have to join to be a part of this community, but the community is most of the value of being an owner, and if you don't chose to be a member, we don't really care if you do or do not, but the power the community can bring to bear on your problem is awesome in the true sense of the word. <= Yes, that is all one sentence and it means what it says.

In my years as a member of this community I have caused more than a few to attend a first international convention (yes, they are much more conventions than rallies) and the almost unanimous response is that it is like trying to get a sip of water from a fire hose. While I do not argue the simile, the situation can be mitigated by asking questions of those around you. If you should happen to meet a GMCer that does not want to talk about his coach, call for medical attention.

We arrived at our first of these on its very last day. We were treated like long lost friends. We had owned the coach for less than a week when we got there and it was an experience that we both still remember over a decade and an half later.

You don't have to join anything, but as soon as you see the value, it will take nothing more to convince you to join something.

" bagged " ????

I think Jim meant "badged" I do not think "badged" is a real word. (noun vs. verb)

If you are visiting for one day, just show up and sign in. They will give you a free visitors badge. If you are staying longer with your coach, then go to the web site and sign up. You are definitely welcome as a non-member.

Gene, the badges are worn by everybody, members or not. It helps everyone recall names of friends they might not have seen in a year or five.

Jim K meant that you should get a badge - the decision of whether or not to get bagged is up to you! Very Happy

Wish I could make make it there, but I guess I'll have to wait until next year. Have fun!

Yes getting “bagged” usually involves someone needing a fairly major repair requiring a jack and stands, 2-3 members doing heavy dirty work, whilst those watching /learning/ absorbing from their camping chairs may have to have adult bevies.

I wish we could make it to this convention, they are always lots of fun, and very informative. Unfortunately, Covid messed up our travel schedule for the past year and a half. We were planning to attend the Rapid City convention last year, incorporating it into a cross country trip to PA to visit relatives. We changed our plans and cut that trip in half, ending up in Rapid City anyway, but no GMCMI.

We instead did the cross country trip in the Spring, and will be flying to PA again this October. Hopefully next year we will be on a Fall cross country trip schedule and will be able to make the 2022 Fall convention, wherever it will be.

Plan on attending as much of the convention as you can, even without a coach, you will learn a LOT!

Like you said Carl. No GMC needed to attend. Go ahead and fly on in Carl. I can pick you up at the MSP airport, it is almost right on way to the rally.

Ugh! I HATE flying. Two plane trips in two months would be too much for me.

It's tempting though, and I appreciate the offer.
