I originally installed a used awning on my coach with the guidance of a few. since then I have assisted a few other's in their awning installs.

One of those GMC'r likes his patio awning so well, he bought a driver side window awning. I have never installed one of those, or cannot go to my coach for guidence. Any secrets or tips? think we plan to hang it in two weeks.

Is it a full length driver side awning or a window style awning. I have the full length awning that I bought used, and installed it. We can talk about it, show it to you at next weeks rally if you'd like.

Jon,

The driver's side windows awnings are much easier to install than the patio awnings. Zip Dee's YouTube channel has a great throwback video of a window awning being installed. The video's probably from the 80's and I loved seeing the installers using tailed drills.

There's also a much more recent and longer video with more detail, but it's essentially the same thing. But they do use cordless tools!

I installed the awning rail extrusion upside down, with the C-channel at the top and butted up against the gutter on the underside of the GMC's roof/wall body molding.

Larry- Thanks, I will be looking over your coach closely this weekend. I believe it is a full length driver side window awning. Rick's coach.

Jim- I don't know if he ordered the awning from you or other venders. but I know you are great support, I know you have the zip dee instructions for passenger side patio awning on your site, but those instructions is the first thing in the garbage when I have installed those.

Richard! those videos are priceless!
