I have a friend that is trying to match the laminate in his GMC.

He has a 1977 Eleganza II. The kitchen counter is a yellow formica and the closet and bath is covered in a medium dark brown.
He wants to match the brown. He is not sure if the formica represents oak or walnut.

Does anyone know of a good Formica or Wilsonart match?

I have a kitchen cabinet/countertop showroom and have wilsonart & Formica
samples but no 77 Eleganza to match. If you want to look at the websites
and find something that looks close, I can mail you color chips if that
helps.

Credit where credit is due. Ken Sheffer bought a gutted-out GMC a few years ago. Drove it the 300 miles home. With very little exhaust system on it. Didn't know a lot about them. Just liked them since the first time that he saw one. Worked hard by himself mostly. Got its under carriage in good order. Then turned his skills, and back ground to the inside. With very innovative ideas. It's perfection inside. Then went on their first trip. With his wife, and neighbor couple. Along for the adventure. That went from Easten Iowa. To San Francisco. Down the West coast. Then back to Iowa. Now that's a case of pure determination. And skill at work.

When I redid the interior of our 77 EL2 the color was NOT available in 2001. I also suggest that the color has deteriorate and fadded badly so you should select a color that is closest and go with it. I also had Wilsonart make my counter tip to my measurements.

Look around the photo albums for other ideas and do read the captions under the pictures. Most just look at the pictures and miss the additional information.
