Hello fellow GMCers. Just an update from Oregon. I got released from the
hospital yesterday. I went in for some vascular surgery on my heart,
expecting to spend overnight. I spent almost 7 days flat on my back. They
found other stuff to fix, including a pacemaker installation. But
everything they did came out well. Weak but getting stronger every day. On
restrictions for 20 days or so. Then some rehab therapy is in my future.
Should be able to resume GMC activities by early summer. Presently look
like I just survived a improvised IED attack.

Jim,

Glad to hear you are out and are recovering. It will be great having you back working on GMCs.

Margie and I hope to get out to the NW area of the country again before too long. Our new barn is keeping us busy but now that we see that COVID is getting better, we are anxious to get on the road again (somebody could make a country song about that, ha).

Maybe we could have a "recovery gathering", Coaches Optional at the Double
J , (that's the name of our place) with BBQ Tri tips, Cole slaw, Peach
Cobbler, etc., with a few of our GMC friends. When it warms up a bit, and I
am stronger. Been in quarantine for too long. I lost a year of my life
sitting around not using my Coach. This crap has to end sometime.
Thanks for all the good wishes.

Jim,
I always get concerned when one goes in for surgery.
I know about your loss of your former wife due to incompetence of medical
people.
Take care and get back helping us again.

To steal a phrase, better living through electronics. Glad you're home, if it wasn't so far I'd be there for the recovery BBQ!

(For those who don't know, Hupy's place is about as far as I can go from my place and still be in the CONUS)

Hey GMCers. Wednesday.
First time for shoes and some time on the recumbent exercise machine.
Only 3 minutes at 50 RPM, 0 resistance. But happy with the result of heart
rate. Only 90 bpm from my resting rate of 75 or so. Before implant, would
have been 120 or so. Big, big improvement. Baby steps, I know. But,
progress. I'll take it, 3 days post surgery.
Thanks for all the kind get well wishes. This is twice that the GMC
community gave me a big boost. Thanks guys.

Good going Jim!

Keep up the good work and you'll be back under a GMC in no time at all!

Hmmm - maybe take your time after all, eh?:
