So I've got the Murray up on blocks with the wheels off. I gave all the bogie arms a good shake to test for wear. My front driver's side bogie has a bit of movement but the rest are good. I have the bogie pins done soon after getting the coach back in 2008 so I'm hoping to keep them in good shape for a while yet.
I've had bogie greasers since I had the pins done. I tried greasing the bogies today and I can only get grease coming out the outer side of the pins, not the inner side. I moved the bogies up and down while greasing and still only grease at the outside edge from either grease fitting of the bogie greaser setup.
Is there a trick to be sure the grease is getting across the entire pin/bushing assembly? The greaser attempts to put grease further into the pin, but there is nothing stopping it from taking the path if least resistance.
Thanks,
Bruce Hislop
