Linda, and I have greatly enjoyed being with you, and Grace. You're both good, honest, and truly caring people. And that caring call to me. That Sunday morning 5 years ago. At 11:15 AM Aug 28, 2015. As our first 78 Royale had burned up in a fire the evening before. And the Nebraska State Fire Marshal. Charged me with arson. Thankfully. Mike and Billie Kelley were there that night. And did their best to try to calm me down. Ropes needed to be used. GRIN. As they pointed out that we had a great time on the road race track that day. And I needed to be very thankful that the fire department. Saved the 69 Yenko. That was on the trailer. And was attached to the GMC. As its value is in the $330,000 range. Plus. I have forgiven Mike for the comment. That they were glad it wasn't theirs. (Funny private joke between the three of us.)
Jim. You will never be able to comprehend what that call from you. Ment to me that day. Then in November. We found another 78 Royale. I then gave Linda a large note pad. And told her to make a dream list. Of everything that she ever wanted in the firest GMC. With no budget restraints. By the fallowing April. The GMC had been TOTALLY dismantled. And put back together. And on the road again. With all the items on that dream list completed. Even with the large clothes hamper, and linin closet. (That she thought she had me stumped with. )
Thank you, Jim, for the support, and encouragement. As we now have the GMC of our dreams. As to this day. We haven't come up with anything that we over looked in the build.
Well. I shouldn't have come out of my hole. But Jim, and Grace mean a lot to us. And this story had to be told about Jim.

Bob,
Jay Leno on “Jay Leno’s Garage” presented a look at his Yenko Corvair (I think he said it was #54). Very interesting on the various models available and fit and finish. He had bought it mostly restored from a guy in the midwest. You can see it on YouTube.
