My black water dump is held up by bungee cord, seen some tied up with rope. I’m pretty sure GMC in their engineering had a better way of doing this, some kind of engineering marvel, magic trick, or something

All my GMCs have a solid tube that goes to the back of the coach, and
need to be hold up y a bungee.
However, the operating manual of my '73 shows, that there is a flex tube
coming to the end of the coach, and a bracket is in place, which holds
this tube.
Just what I noticed.

The so called bungee is a solid rubber strip used universally for such
applications.
They are available in different length with hooks at better truck parts.

To all following this topic:
The rear black drain was supported by a rubber strap/cord in the travel position.
Manual X-7525/X-7525B, page 23L-4. Figure 4 show the installation.
As Jim and other have stated you can get this type of natural rubber cord at major truck stops. ( TA-Petro, Pilot, Loves and other major truck stops ) I have supplied a ebay site just to shop what they look like. A 15 or 21 inch should work just fine. You can usually buy just one at truck stops, but buy 2.

I stand corrected.
The Operating Manual of my 73 shows something different. Oh, and it is
24L not 23L. Page 852 in the scanned manual.

You can also find similar at Harbor Freight, but I have found
that those are definitely of lower quality and lifespan.
