Hello all,

Installing 3.55 final this week. Note I have the 1 ton front end.

When I moved the drivers side axle into place to mate with the final drive, I heard a slight 'pop' and the saw the stamped piece had come free from the CV housing. I position the stamped, round piece into place (by hand) and put three fasteners in to sandwich the parts together.

I stopped at this point wondering if the stamped piece needs to be press fit into the housing or does it get held in place when assembled to the final drive.

Curious if anyone has experience or thoughts if I need to remove the axle and peen the stamped end piece into the housing.

Seems to me that the pressed in stamped piece would be a bit flimsy if it is intended to be a stop for the CV joint internals.

Thanks
