And don't think that wasn't in the front of our minds, when we were
thinking about having it done. My former sister-in-law acquired a super bug
from the surgical theater when she had hers done at Salem Hospital. They
put a port on her and pumped a cocktail of very strong antibiotics, etc. in
to her for 17 weeks. Eventually removed the knee joint, and left her in
traction while they chased those bugs from her system. Long, painful
ordeal. Have a good friend that went through 5 replacement joints before he
healed. Same hospital killed my first wife with a botched heart valve
replacement.
Soon, we used a different hospital for Judy. Once bitten, twice shy, I
say.
What happened to Linda should never, ever, happen to anyone. Thanks
for your concern.
