We just got back from a trip to the New Mexico’s mountains with some pretty steep grades. So I wanted my brakes to be in tiptop shape. First of all, I’m a one man show when it comes to working on my coach. And I’m not that good of a mechanic. Previously Ive tried to gravity bleed and peddle bleed, not the greatest of results. So I bought one of Jim Hupy’s bleeder kits. First of all, everything you need is included except the brake fluid. What impressed me the most was the workmanship that went into the reservoir top plate. The pressure bleeder is very easy to operate, great for a one man operation. Just fill the pump with brake fluid, pump up to the correct pressure, get out the manual for the bleed order, and bleed. EASY!!
At the same time I changed my fluid from Dot 3 to Dot 5.1(based on Emery’s report). Just suck the old fluid out of the reservoir with a turkey baster and flush with the brake bleeder/flusher kit.
This kit should also work with any of your old classic cars also.
Needless to say, I now have great stopping brakes, or as good as can be in these motorhomes! Descending the grades in the mountains with a heavy coach and a towed Tracker(without a towing brake system) was not even a issue. I think this kit was definitely worth the price. Everyone or every club should have one. BRAKES ARE IMPORTANT.........
Thanks Jim!!
Scott.

I am out here, choking on smoke from wildfires, nursing my wife, who just
had total knee replacement a week ago on Friday. She is trying to do too
much, so my primary task is to slow her down. Haven't had much success, so
far.

Yes, I still am making brake bleeders, they enable one person, working
alone, to successfully bleed the brakes in a GMC. I make top plates one at
a time, for whatever master cylinder your coach might have fitted. I do not
mass produce them. So each one is custom. Just the way I go.

Jim,
I've had two total knee replacements and an ankle replacement so I have some experience with your problem.
I would suggest duct taping her to a good recliner, lighting a fire for her to look at, and providing a decent single-malt at the frequency/dilution she desires.
Diligence with the PT frequency and intensity are required, but 4 weeks later problem solved! Slow, but steadily improving life is the norm.
Wish her well from someone who has been through it.

She is doing great, therapist says her upper leg strength is "boss"
whatever that means. She has over 90° range of motion on the knee, already,
no swelling. Staples will come out on Wednesday. Still icing and elevating
often. Walking unassisted in the house, no walker. She is determined to
improve daily. She is able to do all the exercises that she was given at
the hospital, and exceeds some of the repetitions. I am impressed.

Jim,
Mary got both knees replaced last year after the coach went out of service and then a shoulder this spring. One knee after the other. (I Keep telling her that with just one more, we should be able to pick her up with a magnet.)
A nurse (a PHD Nurse!) friend of ours (that has also gotten aftermarket knees) advised rice over ice and it is real good.
Get a 10# bag and split it into 5 gallon ziplock bags and put them in the freezer. They provide at least as much relief, and get warm about the time the cooling should stop. Then, put it back in the freezer and it will be ready for next time. Plus, you have 5 to draw on and no set up time. They also don't leak. She will still want the washcloth.
Don't bother trying to slow her down, if she does something she shouldn't, the pain will tell her all about that. Mary now walks faster than I do, but I am still trying to get by with the OE parts.
Give her a hug for us.

My "standard" plate probably will not. But, I can make you a "custom" plate
that will. I would need an imprint from the top of the reservoir, and cell
phone pics of your MC. Might require different hold down cable positions.
Easy enough to accomplish with pictures. Probably for the same price. I
make these kits to be of service to the Community, not to get rich.
