I just talked to my Brother in Albany, Oregon. Yesterday waterskiing on the reservoir, without a care in the world. Today- ash on his cars. I talked to another friend who is evacuating because of a fire near Lyons, Or.
I hope Jim has gas in his GMC, and is doing well. I would guess those fires have to be within 30 miles of him? and the weather forecast is not good. I would guess his place will be OK... but still that is getting too close for comfort.
This is pretty unusual for that area. Western side of the cascades is usually fairly wet, and the fires don't ravage like this. 100 miles east is and can be a different story.
